Police investigating car break-ins in South City

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – On Thursday morning, St. Louis police said received multiple calls regarding car break-ins in south St. Louis.

According to reports, the calls started coming in around 4:30 a.m.  One victim, in the 6300 block of Colorado said thieves attempted to break in to his car.  Police said the lock on a vehicle was popped off, but it appeared nothing was missing from the vehicle.

Another break-in happened near the intersection of Koelen and Pennsylvania.  The third case was near Michigan and Davis.

Police tell News 4 in all cases, the thieves either broke the windows in the cars or punched out the locks.

So far there is no description of the suspects.  The only thing police know is that the suspects are driving around in a black car.

An investigation is ongoing.
