DENVER (BaseballStL) – Sitting in a fancy luxury box wearing a Broncos visor and red shirt, Peyton Manning sat and watched the Cardinals pounce early on the Rockies in Denver on Monday night.
Manning, who signed with the Broncos after his release from the Colts this offseason, is coming off neck surgery which forced him to miss the entire 2011 season.
According to ESPN.com’s Jim Caple, Manning grew up a Cardinals fan, but began following the Rockies starting in his college days at the University of Tennessee where he and Rockies first baseman Todd Helton were quarterbacks.
Former Cardinals manager Tony La Russa was also in attendance.
