EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (KMOV) -- Negotiations between teachers and district officials have reached a roadblock in Edwardsville.
According to a joint statement, the school board delivered its final offer for teacher contracts on Thursday. Now the two sides are at an impasse, and the ball is in the teachers' court.
In March, the Edwardsville school board cut 62 positions to save $2 million, but the district's budget is still coming up short.
The teachers will vote in the board’s final offer on August 1, just two weeks before the start of the school year.
Both sides are refusing to comment.
