ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Wells Fargo representatives and Missouri Governor Jay Nixon were in St. Louis on Friday to announce expansion plans that will create hundreds of jobs.
At a St. Louis press conference, Wells Fargo representatives announced their expansion plan for their headquarters. Governor Nixon was on hand to help make the announcement.
The project will pump about $33 million into the local economy and create 400 jobs. The jobs will be created over a three-year period.
The company is getting help from the state in the form of an economic incentive package worth $12.6 million in tax credits. The state also is providing $540,000 in New Jobs Training incentives.
Once the jobs are added, Wells Fargo will have about 5,000 employees at its downtown headquarters.
