ST. CHARLES, Mo. (AP) -- An eastern Missouri man has been sentenced to prison for a large methamphetamine lab that he set up near an area of his home where children played.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that 28-year-old Eric Joseph Bill of Wentzville was sentenced Wednesday to seven years in prison. However, the judge could lessen the sentence if Bill successfully completes a 120-day treatment program in prison.
Six children under the age of 7 were living at the home in March, when chemicals were found in boxes with the children's toys and books. Bill pleaded guilty in May to attempting to manufacture drugs and endangering the welfare of a child.
