ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A homeless man was hospitalized after he was allegedly set on fire while sleeping in south St. Louis on Friday.
A homeless man at the scene told police someone poured gasoline on him and set him on fire while he was sleeping in an alley in the 3900 block of Illinois Avenue.
The man was taken to an area hospital for treatment, but the extent of his injuries were unknown.
A garage suffered severe damage and a car was destroyed in the fire. Firefighters with the St. Louis Fire Department extinguished the flames.
Bomb and arson teams are investigating. No suspects have been named.
