ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- Two people are dead and three others were injured when someone shot into a group of people in south St. Louis Thursday night.

According to authorities, the shooting happened around 9:25 p.m. near the entrance of Gravois Park. Emergency crews responded to the intersection of Miami and Louisiana and found three males, 14, 17 and 20 lying in the street with gunshot wounds to the leg.

Two females, 20-year-old Ronisha Jackson and 16-year-old Kiera Tanter, were found on the ground unresponsive. They were immediately taken to a St. Louis hospital, where they were later pronounced dead.

The three males were taken to the hospital, where they remain in stable condition.

All the victims were reportedly standing near the entrace to the park when someone started shooting at them.

Police say the incident was discovered by an officer who drove by the scene and saw people yelling. A neighbor said he heard several loud claps in a row, but did not know what they were until he heard police sirens.

Police said officers are looking for someone in a red Dodge Charger. The person of interest is described as a black male in his 30's. During the incident, he was seen in the area in the vehicle and was wearing a white t-shirt.
