SLMPD sergeant charges with three counts of property damage

ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- St. Louis Metropolitan Police Sergeant Jason Love has been charged with three misdemeanor counts of 2nd degree property damage.

The charges stems from an incident that occurred in the early morning hours of June 20, 2012. 

According to court documents, Love reportedly slashed the tires of a Dodge Ram in the parking lot of a business in the 3400 block of Goodfellow Boulevard. 
 
Following that, Love also reportedly slashed the tires to a GMC Suburban, then kicked the door of the business, breaking the glass. 
 
Currently, Love's motivation is unclear. There are no injuries from the incident, and no information on whether he was intoxicated. 
 
Sergeant Love was released on a summons with a court date to be determined. He is not currently suspended by the department.
 
Sergeant Love has been with the department for approximately 15 years.
