The crimes happened Sunday night at Glendale Chrysler-Plymouth in Glendale, and at Suntrup Ford and a Firestone repair shop in Kirkwood.

Glendale Police said the suspect took the stolen change to a nearby grocery store and can be seen on security cameras exchanging the coins for bills. Police said the thief got about $45 in loose change but the repair bills for the damaged cars could top $10,000.

The suspect is described as a white man in his early 20's, around 5'10" and with a thin build. He was wearing jeans, sneakers and a dark pea coat over a dark hooded jacket at the time.
