ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- Icy conditions during Monday morning's commute led to multiple accidents and lane closures in the St. Louis area.
Travel was slowed in downtown around 6;15 a.m. Monday as a multi-vehicle accident initially closed lanes on westbound I-64 near Busch Stadium. Shortly after that accident, emergency crews closed all westbound lanes, and all but one eastbound lane through downtown. Those accidents have been cleared.
Westbound traffic was forced to exit onto 9th Street in downtown. Westbound I-64 traffic was backed up for miles into Illinois.
Shortly after the downtown accidents, crews were called to an accident on westbound I-64/40 near Grand that closed multiple lanes of the interstate.
The ramp from EB I-64 to SB I-270 was closed around 6:40 due to an accident.
Northbound I-55 traffic was slowed around 6:30 at Arsenal Street due to an accident. Traffic was backed up to Virginia
Another accident, around 6:45 a.m. on southbound I-55 near Park, slowed traffic back through downtown.
There were no reports of serious injuries in the accidents.
