GRANITE CITY, Ill. (KMOV.com) -- Granite City police are sending an officer to New York City to attend the funeral of one of the NYPD officers who was killed while on duty in mid-December.
The airline Jet Blue offered to fly U.S. law enforcement to the New York City funerals for free.
Granite City police officer Eric Stacy left Friday and will stay with an NYPD officer while in New York.
Four representatives from the St. Louis County Police Department are driving to New York to attend the funerals.
NYPD officer Rafael Ramos will be laid to rest on Saturday.
