ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV) -- A downtown crash at 14th and Cass on Christmas Day left one woman dead and a man in critical, but stable condition.
Police said that a 17-year-old driver was observed running a red light signal on Cass at 14th, striking a vehicle driven by Shanica Burney, 22, St. Louis. Both vehicles slid to the southwest corner of the intersection where Burney's vehicle struck the curb and flipped over. The first vehicle slid into a third vehicle that was parked and unoccupied.
The driver and passenger of the first vehicle both fled the scene. The driver and passenger of the second vehicle were taken to a hospital where Burney was pronounced dead.
The investigation is ongoing.
