ROCKFORD, Ill. (AP) -- Police in Rockford say four people, including two children, have been found dead of apparent gunshot wounds.
Police say a mother, her boyfriend and her two boys were found dead in a red-brick duplex late Saturday. The Rockford Register Star reports (http://bit.ly/1sNJE9O ) authorities identified the victims as 24-year-old Martia Flint, 24-year-old Demontae Rhodes, 6-year-old Tyrone Smith III and 4-year-old Tobias K. Smith.
Assistant Deputy Chief Patrick Hoey says neighbors reported hearing pounding on a door and someone forcing the door open before hearing gunshots. Hoey says police have no known motive.
The Winnebago County coroner says autopsies are planned Monday.
