AFFTON, Mo. (KMOV.com) – 20 vehicles were broken into and one vehicle was stolen overnight in the Affton neighborhood on Foxcroft Drive and Ravenscroft Drive.

The thieves smashed the car windows in order to gain access to the items inside each vehicle. One vehicle, a 2008 Ford Taurus, still had the keys inside and the thieves stole that vehicle as well.

“My son had actually just gotten back from college,” said of the victims, Mark Lux. “He had gotten in last night. They [the thieves] had stolen a laptop, an iPad, and a coat.”

Another victim, Matt Saito, said they stole the spare set of keys to his home and was forced to change all his locks.

Residents in the area say this is not the first time cars on their street have been targeted and police say they will now increase patrols in the area. No description of the suspect or suspects has been released.
