ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – A winter weather advisory began at midnight and is scheduled to end at 10:00 a.m. Thursday for the southwestern portion of the News 4 viewing area.
News 4 Meteorologist Kent Ehrhardt said snow starting falling in the western portion of the viewing area around midnight and moved into the St. Louis Metro area around 5:15 a.m.
Ehrhardt said areas south and west of St. Louis could see 1-3 inches of snow, while other parts of the News 4 viewing area will only receive up to one inch of snow. The snow will melt somewhat on treated surfaces, but will accumulate on grass.
Ehrhardt said after the snow leaves, temperatures will rise slightly above freezing allowing some melting to take place.
