CREVE COEUR (KMOV.com) -- Two West County police departments are investigating separate incidents of students bringing loaded guns to school Tuesday.
According to the Creve Coeur Police Department, a student at the Whitfield School brought a firearm into the school Tuesday morning.
Police responded to a call from a staff member who stated that a student brought a loaded pistol to school concealed in a backpack. A fellow student made the staff aware of the incident and the weapon was secured by school staff before police arrived.
The student did not brandish or threaten anyone with the weapon and was taken into custody by police.
A second student was found to be in possession of a loaded gun at Ladue Horton Watkins High School, police told News 4.
Police said the male student, who is a juvenile, was arrested after an administrator was notified about the weapon. Circumstances leading to that notification were not immediately released.
