JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office has settled a lawsuit that claimed two former deputies hogtied a 12-year-old boy.
The encounter between the boy and officers occurred in June 2010.
The two deputies reportedly approached the boy to ask him if he had been playing on the highway. Moments later, the deputies allegedly hogtied the boy without provocation, the lawsuit claimed.
The Jefferson County Sheriff said the boy was restrained by the officers because he appeared intent on hurting himself.
While neither deputy from the incident was disciplined, neither is still employed with the Sheriff's Office.
