SULLIVAN (KMOV.com)- A Sullivan woman has been charged with attempted robbery and armed criminal action after an incident in Sullivan on Monday night.

According to the Sullivan Police Department, Trina J. Vittetoe, 54, was arrested after allegedly entering the office of the Family Motor Inn while carrying a knife and hammer.

Vittetoe ordered the motel clerk to hand over any money, but the clerk refused.

The suspect then began to walk behind the desk, pointing the knife and hammer at the clerk and his wife, and again demanded money.

The clerk again refused and grabbed both of Vittetoe's arms and was able to disarm her and hold her on the ground until local law enforcement arrived.

Vittetoe's bond has been set at $75,000.
