FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, Ill. (KMOV.com) -- A Fairview Heights man was charged with breaking into a woman's home in Fairview Heights Wednesday evening.
Police said the woman called them to the 500 block of Traubel in Fairview Heights around 4:20 p.m. after she saw a man trying to break into her home. The victim said the man was trying to break the back window of her home to try to get inside.
The woman was gave police a description of the suspect. A short time later police saw a man matching the description in the area.
Officers said they approached Ralph Williams, 20, and he fled on foot. Police caught up to him and later captured him.
Williams was charged with one count of attempted residential burglary. His bail was set at $100,000.
Investigators say they are working to see if Williams is responsible for other burglaries in the area.
