FLORISSANT, Mo. (KMOV) – Charges have been filed against three men for allegedly stealing motor vehicle from Johnny Londoff Chevrolet in Florissant.
Trevonn Hunter, Derrell Howell and Marlen Waller were each charged with three counts of motor vehicle theft, second-degree burglary and misdemeanor stealing.
According to police, Hunter, Howell and Waller were involved in stealing five vehicles from the dealership on October 12.
Police said four of those vehicles have since been recovered.
The thefts at Johnny Londoff came on the same day thieves stole eight vehicles from Lou Fusz Buick GMC in west St. Louis County.
Seven of those vehicles were later found, police said. Authorities said a red 2011 Chevy Camaro was still missing.
Sources said one of the vehicles stolen from Lou Fusz was also found at Johnny Londoff.
Police said the incidents are part of a crime trend that started in the area in June, 2011.
Since then, thieves have hit dealerships from St. Charles to Creve Coeur, to Florissant and south St. Louis County.
Police said the suspects frequently park the stolen cars in places around St. Louis city and then make money renting them out to others.
