ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Charges have been filed against a man who police believe strangled a woman to death before putting her body in a south St. Louis trash bin.
Keith Miller, 34, has been charged with first-degree murder in relation to the death of Ashley Moorhead.
A young couple on Friday told News 4 they were at their home near the 3500 block of California when they spotted Miller in the alley with their trash can. The male resident confronted Miller and told him to put his trash bin back where he found it.
After the confrontation, the resident went back inside his home. The woman who lived with him later spotted Miller walking away with the bin.
The male resident again approached Miller, who began acting suspicious and tried to hide the trash can behind his back.
According to the couple, when they called police, Miller fled south through an alley and west on Miami Avenue. After Miller fled, the couple said that’s when they looked into the trash can and discovered Moorhead’s body.
They immediately called police and provided a description of the Miller.
