CRESTWOOD, Mo. (KMOV) – A 19-year-old Arnold man is accused of stealing his father’s pickup truck just before his friend dragged the father and broke his leg.
Nicholas Doane was charged with stealing a motor vehicle. His friend, Anthony Passiglia, 28, was charged with second-degree assault and stealing a motor vehicle.
Police said Doane stole the truck from his father’s home in Jefferson County. Authorities said his father used an app on his cell phone to track the truck to the parking lot of a Kohl’s in Crestwood.
According to police, the father confronted Doan and Passiglia and demanded they return the truck, but they refused. According to police, Passiglia jumped in the truck and drove off while Doane’s father held onto the door handle. The victim, who was dragged a short distance, suffered a broken leg.
Doane then jumped in to the truck and Passiglia drove off. Doane's father was left injured, lying in the parking lot.
Doane was released from custody after posting a $15,000 bond. Passiglia continues to be held on a $25,000 bond.
