Southwest Missouri woman charged with forging paychecks

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) -- Prosecutors in southwest Missouri have charged a 40-year-old Springfield woman with forgery for allegedly printing her own paychecks and cashing them at Walmart stores.

The Springfield News-Leader reports that Victoria L. Calbert, is charged with four counts of felony forgery and one count of possessing forgery equipment. The charges stem from recent incidents during which Calbert allegedly cashed counterfeit checks at local Walmart stores.

Prosecutors say police also found additional counterfeit checks, fake military IDs and related equipment at her home last month.

A probable cause statement in the case says she's accused of cashing the checks at Walmart stores in Arkansas, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma.

Online court records don't list a lawyer for Calbert.
