Lohse dominates Nationals, abandoned by Cardinals offense

WASHINGTON (BaseballStL) -- If you could ask Game 4 starter Kyle Lohse which pitch he would like back, it would be the only one that manufactured offense against him for the Nationals on Thursday -- a solo home run hit by Adam LaRoche in the second inning.

Aside from that pitch, Lohse forced Nationals hitters into a state of confusion by allowing just two hits and one walk in seven innings pitched.

Unfortunately for the Cardinals, the offense from Games 2 and 3 were nowhere to be found.  The Cardinals were able to only muster one unearned run against starter Ross Detwiler, who allowed three hits and three walks in six innings, and the Nationals bullpen.  As a matter of fact, the Nationals pitchers struck out eight in a span of nine Cardinals batters.

The lack of offense and a walk-off home run in the ninth inning by Jayson Werth will force a Game 5.
