BERKELEY, Mo. (KMOV) – A St. Louis man is facing multiple charges for his role in Sunday’s triple shooting in Berkeley.
Randy Rashad Thomas, 22, has been charged with four counts of first-degree assault, four counts of armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm.
Police said Thomas and another suspect, who has not yet been named by police, is suspected to have wounded three people when they shot into a vehicle in the 8300 block of Fairbanks on October 7.
According to police, an officer on patrol in Berkeley heard what he believed to be gunshots around 4:15 p.m. Sunday. While investigating, the officer saw a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Airport Road. The officer gave chase and stopped the vehicle on Carson and South Dade.
Police said the officer found four people inside the vehicle, three of whom had been shot. All were taken to an area hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Thomas and another suspect were taken into custody on Tuesday. The second suspect has not yet been charged.
