While the Circle of Concern Food Pantry is so grateful for all the donations of food and gifts this holiday season, organizers are also worried about what will happen after Christmas.
The Circle is feeding so many more people than it used to, thanks to the recession and job loss in the area. I went there today and talked to several people getting services. Each one spoke of what a lifesaver the services offered there are. Not one of them could have foreseen the circumstances that led them to need help, and they say they have no idea what they'd do if the Circle wasn't there.
I think one thing that also stands out, is how respectfully they are treated. It is a lesson for us all to remember in the coming months.
