Man accused of trying to steal from food pantry in St. Charles
David A. Patterson By Police
(KMOV) – Just days before Christmas, a former volunteer is accused of trying to steal from the Fish and Loaves food pantry in St. Charles.
Police say Donald A. Patterson, 65, backed his car up to the pantry Tuesday evening and began to load up food. In the process, police were called and responded to the scene. They say Patterson used a key to get in the pantry he still had from when he was a volunteer there last year.
Patterson was arrested at the scene and has been charged with second degree burglary and is being held on $10,000 bond.
