Tuesday's check presentation was held at the St. Louis County Library.

"God knows that they need the money it is a more dangerous world than we've ever know. these heros of our these police officers and fire fighters take a greater risk with their lives everyday by going out and protecting our lives and property," said Guns N' Hoses Executive Director Jerry Clinton

Clinton announced more than 16,000 fans watched the boxing matches at the Scottrade Center on November 25.

Numbers are down this year, however. In 2008, the organization raised $340,000. Since Guns N' Hoses began in 1987, though, the event has raised over $3 million.
