(KMOV) -- Police are looking for a suspect after an early morning car robbery in an O’Fallon, Mo., apartment complex.

O’Fallon officers responded to a 911 call just after 5 a.m. Thursday morning that reported multiple suspects were going through and stealing items out of vehicles in the Westchester Apartment Complex. The caller told police the suspects arrived in a red pickup truck. When officers arrived, they say the suspects got in their truck and drove away at a high rate of speed, just barely missing the officers patrol car in what would have been a head on collision, before fleeing the complex.
Police say shortly after the incident they received another call that a truck matching the same description nearly hit another car near Bryan Road and Veterans Memorial Parkway. The vehicle then traveled eastbound on Interstate 70 before an O’Fallon officer was able to pursue the truck. Officers say the truck refused to pull over and reached speeds of nearly 100 MPH during the pursuit, while nearly hitting at least five vehicles.
Officers were forced to use “stop-sticks” near Zumbehl Road to cause a flat tire to the suspects vehicle. After the truck came to stop, three suspects exited the truck and led police on a foot chase. Two suspects were taken into custody near a Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant, but the third was able to escape.

The St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued one count of Resisting Arrest and two counts of Property Damage 1st degree, with a $50,000 cash only bond on both 18-year-old Robert Pruitt and 17-year-old Lavon Harris. Both subjects are residents of St. Louis.
