There seems to be no doubt as to who Blake Carlton believes inflicted the Sunday morning beating on him as he was sleeping on a friend's couch in an off-campus house near Southeast Missouri State.  His mother says he has told police two of the attackers are football players on the SEMO team, in fact I'm told he knows one of the players personally.

Police in Cape Girardeau say they are still investigating and there's been no arrests, although the Carlton's say police have spoken with one of the players.  A police spokesman says they're looking for witnesses.  Julie Cralton tells me there are two witnesses who saw 15 or so men in SEMO football sweats with numbers on the front going in and out of the house at the time of the attack.

Blake's mom tells me her son had no enemies on the team and may have been a mistaken target by his attackers.

The university is also keeping quiet, preferring to wait for the police investigation to finish.  This is a story that still has a long way to go.
