ST. LOUIS (AP) -- The St. Louis Rams are considering shutting down rookie offensive tackle Jason Smith for the rest of the season.
The second overall pick of the draft missed his third straight game due to a concussion and did not travel with the team for Sunday's 47-7 loss at Tennessee. Coach Steve Spagnuolo said Monday there was no change in Smith's symptoms.
Last week the Rams had hoped Smith would recover in time to return to the lineup, but now that the schedule is down to three games it's looking less likely that will happen. Smith didn't make the trip because the team was concerned that excessive movement would aggravate the symptoms.
