KMOV - There should be some somber moments during the annual christmas concert at First Baptist Church in Maryville.
This will be the first Christmas since 1987 without Pastor Fred Winter, In March, he was shot to death while leading a Sunday service.
The concert is about getting in the Christmas mood, but also about remembering the beloved Pastor Fred.
On page four of the program the church says it's dedicating the concerts in his memory.
Toward the end of the program, they'll run a five minute video Pastor Fred recorded shortly before his death about why we exist.
"I think it's going to be a very emotional time and we've prepared our congregation letting them know that was going to take place because when you actually see him and hear his voice it stirs up a lot of deep emotions and feelings, and I think it's going to be a very powerful moment for a lot of people," says Worship and Music Pastor Mark Jones.
First Baptist is hoping to draw people in from well beyond their congregation to enjoy this free concert happening Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
