KMOV - Thousands of St. Louis city workers will have to take time off without pay to help offset the city's $10 million dollar budget shortfall.
The city's board of alderman approved the furloughs Friday.
Rank and file workers will have to take 40 hours off without pay before the end of the fiscal year in June. Managers will have to take 80 hours off without pay. Police officers and firefighters will not be affected.
The furloughs will save about 70 jobs.
