Business owner shot during robbery attempt in north St. Louis

(KMOV) -- St. Louis police are looking for the gunmen who robbed a business owner.
 
It happened around 3:45 a.m. on Wednesday in the 1000 block of North Jefferson outside Spruill's Lounge in north St. Louis.
 
According to police, the owner of the lounge was leaving to make a deposit when two armed suspects approached him and tried to take his money bag.
 
The victim struggled with the suspects and was shot in the elbow. The victim shot back at the suspects and they took off in a van driven by another suspect.
 
A friend drove the victim to a local hospital. He is listed in stable condition.
 
Police say the suspects took off in an older model, gray minivan. There is no description on the driver. One suspect is described as a black man in his late 20s or early 30s, about 5’11, 190 pounds with a dark complexion. The other suspect is described as a black male about 5’6, 200 pounds, with dark, curly hair.
