Metro-East man pleads guilty; shooting leaves victim paralyzed

EDWARDSVILLE - An Alton man pleaded guilty Tuesday to attempted armed robbery in a case that involved a shooting that left the victim paralyzed.

Troy Lacey, 21, of the 300 block of Big Arch Road, pleaded guilty in Madison County Circuit Court in exchange for a sentence of 17 years in prison and a prosecution agreement to drop a charge of home invasion. Lacey also listed an address in the 600 block of Pearl Street.

The home invasion charge included an allegation that Lacey shot the victim, Stanley D. Brewster, in the face.
