Franklin County: 2 plead guilty to federal meth charges

St. Louis, MO: Robert and Levi Wheeler have pleaded guilty to multiple charges of involving the manufacture of methamphetamine, Acting United States Attorney Michael W. Reap announced today.

Robert Fay Wheeler, 45, and Levi Wheeler, 24, both of St. Clair, MO, each pleaded guilty Monday, to one felony count of possession of pseudoephedrine with the knowledge and intent to manufacture methamphetamine. Additionally, Robert Wheeler plead to one felony count of manufacturing in excess of 50 grams of methamphetamine. Their activities took place in July 2009 in Franklin County. Both defendants appeared before United States District Judge Catherine D. Perry, who set sentencing for March 5, 2010.

Possession of pseudoephedrine with intent to manufacture methamphetamine carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and/or fines up to $250,000; manufacturing in excess of 50 grams of methamphetamine carries a penalty range of 5 to 40 years in prison and/or fines up to $2 million.
