Hillsboro: Suspect indicted for alleged courthouse bomb threat

ST. LOUIS (AP) -- A Jefferson County man has been indicted for an alleged threat to bomb the courthouse in Hillsboro.

Acting U.S. Attorney Michael Reap said the indictment against Scott R. Jones alleges that he used a cell phone to threaten to bomb the courthouse in November.

The 41-year-old Eureka man was indicted on a federal charge of threatening to injury or damage an individual or building by means of an explosive device.

He faces up to 10 years in prison and up to $250,000 in fines if convicted.

There is no phone listing for Jones. It wasn't clear whether he has an attorney.
