St. Charles (KMOV.com) – The search is on for a gunman police believe robbed two area convenience stores. Security cameras were rolling in each case.

The best view of the suspect comes from the Circle K located in the 3400 block of Harry S. Truman on Saturday just before midnight.

Police say that the suspect walked into the store, pulled a gun on the clerk and demanded money from the cash drawer. The suspect fled the scene with an undetermined amount of cash in a small, white, four-door passenger car.

Video cameras were rolling when a suspect matching that description pulled into a convenience store in West Alton. That incident happened around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday.  In this case the video shows the suspect driving what appears to be a darker colored passenger car.

The suspect is described as a black male, 20-30 years of age, wearing a grey stocking hat, maroon jacket and gloves. Investigators say the weapon was a small handgun.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the St. Charles Police Department Investigative Services at 636-949-3320. Anonymous tips can be left through St. Charles CrimeStoppers at 636-949-3333
