ST. LOUIS (AP) -- St. Louis-area motorists have been cautioned to drive the reopened Interstate 64 as if they were driving it for the first time.
The Missouri Department of Transportation reopened the interstate through St. Louis on Monday after two years of work to rebuild more than 8 miles of roadway, bridges and interchanges.
MoDot district engineer Ed Hassinger said Monday that motorists showed some indecision as they navigated the new road. He urged them to use caution and follow the signs.
Missouri lawmakers passed a measure this year officially naming the stretch of I-64 from the city limit to the Illinois line as Jack Buck Highway.
