Suburban St. Louis man convicted in 1970 killing

KENNETT, Mo. (AP) -- A suburban St. Louis man has been convicted in the 1970 murders of a young couple in the Missouri Bootheel.

Jurors deliberated about 90 minutes Saturday in Dunklin County Circuit Court being finding 59-year-old Theodore V. Kleine of Ballwin guilty of two counts of first-degree murder.

Kleine had been charged decades earlier charged in the shooting deaths of 20-year-old Alan Bradford and 17-year-old Mary Seutter, but was freed because jurors could not agree on a verdict.

The victims were shot in the head. Their bodies were found near the home of Kleine's uncle.

He was charged again in April 2008 after an investigator contacted several survivors and obtained their genetic material.
