5:46: Laurence Bowers with a slam dunk! These guys are just enjoying themselves now

5:49: Justin Safford gets a high flying basket and the entire team gets a standing ovation from the crowd for their effort so far

5:55: Every player is still giving it their all with Keith Ramsey and Zaire Taylor both falling hard to the ground fighting to score.

6:05: Zaire Taylor and Marcus Denmon get a nice loud applause as they take a seat for the rest of the game

6:11: Mizzou gets to 100 points thanks to a slam dunk by freshman Tyler Stone!

The Missouri Tigers (5-2) were not going to let their two-game losing streak get to three games and came out with a vengeance beating the Oregon Ducks 106-69. Mizzou was hot from behind the arc making 14, 3-point shots giving the student section lots of free t-shirts (every time Mizzou makes a 3-pointer the cheerleaders throw t-shirts into the crowd). A lot of the players said before the game that this was a must-win situation for them. Coming out and beating a decent Oregon (4-3) team in the Big 12/ Pac-10 Hardwood Series gives the Big 12 a 5-1 advantage in the series so far this year.

Marcus Denmon led the offense for the Tigers scoring 17 points, including 4, 3-pointers. Zaire Taylor wasn't far behind with 16 points and also 4, 3-pointers. Missouri shot 58 percent from the field, had 5 blocks and 7 steals. They won the turnover battle which was going to be key, giving up 15 turnovers to Oregon's 19 turnovers. It also helped that Oregon only shot 30 percent from the field. Everyone got in on the 3-point show as Zaire Taylor, Marcus Denmon, Justin Safford, Kim English, Jarrett Sutton and Michael Dixon all hit 3's. In addition, 12 of the 13 players on the team scored for Mizzou today really making it a team effort.

With the non-conference home win streak extending to 41, Mizzou has to be happy with their dominant performance tonight. Next game is 7 p.m. Wednesday at Oral Roberts. Then catch the Tigers at home Saturday Dec. 12 and follow my blog live at at 7 p.m.!
