Man gets 15-year sentence in fatal DWI crash

ST. CHARLES, Mo. (AP) -- A suburban St. Louis man who caused a deadly crash on Interstate 70 has been sentenced to 15 years in prison.

Chad E. Frazer was sentenced Friday for involuntary manslaughter and leaving the scene of the Feb. 19 crash that killed Robert Wood.

Prosecuctors said Frazer was driving about 120 mph when he slammed into the back of Wood's car.

The impact killed the 51-year-old from Wright City as he drove to his job at Boeing.

Police said hospital tests showed Frazer's blood-alcohol level was 0.277 percent, more than three times the limit for drunken driving.

Relatives of Wood spoke during the sentencing hearing. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported that they said they had forgiven Frazer but that they still believed the 30-year-old O'Fallon man should go to prison.
