St. Louis: 23-year-old charged in South Broadway murder

Michael A.J. Pulliam, a 23 year old White male of the 5200 block of South Broadway was arrested on December 2, 2009.
On December 3, 2009 investigators presented the case against him to the Circuit Attorney's Office and warrants were issued for 1st Degree Murder, 2 counts of 1st Degree Assault and 3 counts of Armed Criminal Action.
Pulliam is charged in the shooting death of Lamar Mills, a 31 year old Black male of the 10 block of Arbon Village. Mills was found shot to death in a vehicle at 4th & Jackson in Berkeley, Missouri.
Investigators connected the shooting to a call that had been received at 8:52pm in the city of St. Louis for "shots fired" in the 100 block of Bellerive. When police arrived to the "shots fired" location they located evidence to indicate a shooting had occurred but located no victim.
Mills was found deceased inside of the vehicle in Berkeley several hours later and investigators determined that Mills had been the victim in the shooting in the 100 block of Bellerive.
The investigation revealed that Mills had been with two additional persons at the time of the shooting but they had not been injured during the confrontation with the suspect.
The investigation also revealed that the incident was drug-related. Pulliam remains in custody on a $500,000 cash-only bond.
