St. Louis: Suspect charged in murder of teen on Cote Brilliante

Anthony A.J. Dodson was arrested for the October 3, 2009 murder of Craig S. Nichols III, an 18 year old Black male of the 3600 block of Cote Brilliante, 63113.

Police responded to the 4300 block of Lee for the victim of a shooting, with the victim being transported to an area hospital. Victim Nichols was shot multiple times in his upper body.

He was pronounced dead on arrival to the hospital. Investigation revealed Victim Nichols and a male passenger were traveling in a vehicle when a Purple vehicle driven by Anthony Dodson began to follow them.

A person in the rear of the vehicle being driven by Dodson began to fire gunshots from a rifle at them. Victim Nichols was driving attempted to flee from the suspects, but he was struck by gunshots and collided with a truck and a pole.

The passenger with Victim Nichols climbed out of the car and ran to avoid being shot. He suffered minor injuries to his hand.
On November 26, 2009, police arrested Anthony A.J. Dodson, a 22 year old Black male of the 2800 block of Dr. Martin Luther King, 63107.

Investigators presented the case to the Circuit Attorney’s Office and warrants were issued for 1st Degree Murder and Armed Criminal Action. The suspect remains in custody on a $500.000 cash-only bond.
