Post-Dispatch delivery man shot while unloading newspapers in Dogtown

(KMOV) -- St. Louis police are investigating an early morning shooting in Dogtown.
It happened around 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday in the 1300 block of Kraft.
According to police, a 46-year-old St. Louis Post-Dispatch delivery man was shot while he was loading newspapers into a machine.
The victim tells police that while he was unloading the newspapers, a dark-colored SUV pulled up next to him. According to the victim, a man got out of the SUV, pointed a gun at him and demanded money. The victim told the suspect he didn’t have any money and the suspect reportedly shot him in the chest.
Police say the suspect then drove off in the victim’s 2001 Ford Windstar that has a Missouri license plate of WA2G4D.
The suspect is described as a 5’9-5’11 black man with a dark complexion and medium length hair in twisted braids. He was wearing a stocking cap. He was last seen driving south on Kraft and the dark-colored SUV was driven west on West Park.
The victim is listed in stable condition at a local hospital.
