House Springs: Suspect charged with flinging man from truck

One man is dead after being thrown from a vehicle following an altercation. Warrants were issued for Scott A. Frederich, 23, of House Springs Missouri, on November 29th for an alcohol related death.
Investigators report that Scott Frederich and his passenger Marshall Hortiz, 38, also of House Springs, were riding in Frederich's 2005 Ford truck when the two were involved in an altercation. At some point during the altercation, Frederich stopped the truck in the area of 3800 West Rock Creek Road, and both men exited the vehicle.
According to the investigation, Frederich returned to the vehicle and was leaving when the victim stood on the running boards outside of the vehicle. The investigation revealed that Frederich accelerated while the victim was hanging on and then slammed on the brakes to get the victim off the vehicle. Hortiz was vaulted from the vehicle to the roadway. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Jefferson County Prosecutor Forrest K. Wegge filed one count of Involuntary Manslaughter-Alcohol Related against Scott Frederich. He is in custody at the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Jail, and currently being held without bond.
