ST. LOUIS (AP) -- Gage Rosier rushed 26 times for 209 yards and five touchdowns, leading Mound City to a 50-8 win over St. Joseph Christian in the Missouri 8-man championship game Friday in St. Louis.
It was the second straight year that the Panthers beat the Lions in the 8-man title game. Mound City (11-1) won the 2008 matchup 48-16.
Rosier scored on runs of 7 and 19 yards as part of a 21-point first quarter for Mound City. He put the game out of reach in the second quarter with touchdown runs of 51 and 6 yards as the Panthers built 34-0 halftime lead.
St. Joseph Christian (10-3) avoided the shutout when Stephen Gregory scored on a 25-yard run with 52 seconds to play.
It was the first of seven state title games through Saturday at the Edward Jones Dome.
