CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) -- Josh Vos ran for 172 yards and three touchdowns to lead Morrison to a 36-14 win over Maroa-Forsyth in an Illinois high school football matchup.
Maroa-Forsyth got Friday's Illinois High School Association Class 2A title game under way on a positive note. The team put together a 10-play, 84-yard scoring drive in the first quarter. However, Morrison got down to business and scored the next 29 points at Memorial Stadium in Champaign.
The win gave Morrison its first state title in 104 seasons of football at the school. The team finishes the season undefeated at 14-0.
Maroa-Forsyth was led by quarterback Logan Stelzried, who threw for 152 yards and a touchdown and ran for another score. Maroa-Forsyth finishes with a 11-3 record.
