Suspect caught with stolen lawn mower

(KMOV)—A New Douglas, Illinois man is caught with a stolen lawn mower on Monday.

According to authorities, a report was made by the victim that his riding lawn mower was stolen from his yard in Huber Street. The mower was taken between 3:30p.m. and 5:30 p.m Monday evening.
Eric E. Runge was spotted riding a lawn mower on Silver Creek Road and deputies later found the lawn mower located in the 1200 block of Mattler Road.
Police recovered the lawn mower at the Mattler location and the victim identified it as his own, taking it home.
According to police, they located Runge at his home and had enough evidence to take him into custody.
Runge was taken to Madison County Jail where he could be charged with a felony theft over $300 if formal charges are filed. Bond has been set at $25,000.
