(KMOV) – Residents in Washington, Mo., were surprised when their water bill charges didn’t match the total.
The city bills its utility customers for water, sewer and garbage combined, but a recent bill sent to all 6,200 customers didn’t add up.
The city said it recently switched to a new software for their billing system and that it did not take into account two user fees that are only charged once a year.
City officials said they are working on fixing the software glitch.
